I'm not sure why, but I always have very hectic weekends. You'd think visiting my parents would be relaxing and calm, but it's always quite the opposite. We run all around the city and I always manage to bring back home tons of stuff - especially food, yum!

Anyway on Monday, I'm always just trying to recover and calm down, which is why my painting (actually, not quite painting) class always suits me well on Mondays, it's so relaxing.

I think, at least once in my life, I'd like to dress up as Alice, but I would really like to dress up like Johnny Deep in the latest Alice in Wonderland movie. Oh, and thanks to Halloween it's 10:30am and I'm already eating candy :)

So, I finally bought an iPhone not because I was ready to keep up with all the apps or with the social networks, but because I was ready for a visually appealing phone. Its design its sleek and the touch screen makes it easy to text (or iMessage) when in need to be quiet.

I have only downloaded a few apps, and the only one that wasn't free (only $1.99) and the only that is worth way more than its I-have-something-to-do-with-my-phone value is the Plastic Bullet Camera app.

The app allows you take a picture and give it an effect resembling the ones from pictures taken with plastic cameras. It's got more than enough options to make your picture stand out far from what the original looked like (trust me the original from these pictures didn't look good at all).

As I've mentioned, I'm obsessed with taking pictures, but somethings it's nice to quickly give them a special effect far from a glittering typeface.

I highly recommend this for anyone who just wants to take pictures and "process" them fast with extremely easy accesibility to share. Here's four more effects I saved.

PINK NINJAS: Save the Tatas Mission

Cancer is a terrible disease. It's claimed the lives of several of my relatives (my grandma is currently fighting it), and it continues to steal lives from all over the world.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month helping spread the word against it. Breast cancer is the most common kind among American women, but we can fight it. I was very pleased to participate in the Susan G. Komen race for the cure in Dallas. I highly encourage everyone to continue donating so research can someday help save the lives of all those mothers, sisters, friends, cousins, nieces, daughters, wives, aunts, grandmas and every other woman who touch our lives everyday.

Have to admit besides the fact that our team's costume kicked ass, I really loved all the support from the huge crowd who came out. See you there next year!

How cute are these men? Plenty of men came out to show their support, including my brother.

Eli, brother, and Carmen, girlfriend.

The night before we stayed up until 1:30am decking out our costumes. Of course we woke up 3 hours later which wasn't so fun, but once we saw the crowd it was all worth it.

And the finish line!!

(I really just like this pic because of the cross the bricks made)

I might be a little too obsessed with taking pictures. I just can't help myself. I typically download between 400 to 700 pics a week due to different angles, different lighting, different settings, but still 700 is a little obsessive.

However, I do not want to stop. I am a serious compulsive thinker and looking at pictures is a way for me to process what's going on in my mind. It sort of keeps me focused quieting the rambling inside my head.

Besides, I see taking pictures as a way to hold on to a moment, not letting it go. Time might keep going, but when I look at pictures I'm not just looking at what was, but what is, for I can relive it in my mind, my heart, my soul. Didn't mean to get melodramatic, just the truth.

This is what my desk looked like after emptying the contents of my purse. (All of the fruit I took to the office one fine day - very typical.) And I'm a huge believer of Emergen-C, highly recommend it.

Love these shoes!

I had a really good and really bad weekend. I guess that's what happens when you have too many free days, more time for something to go wrong.

Since Friday, it started out really good (life changing news were received). But then on Saturday, it quickly became a case of 'maybe I shouldn't have eaten that.'

I ended up with a mild case of food poisoning with all of the symptoms present. And because I haven't slept well since then, my back is about to break in two - at least the pain feels like it.

I wouldn't have showed up to work if it wasn't for the fact I have class tonight where I'll be painting a color wheel and I just couldn't not show up.

I hope everyone else's Monday is going better. I hope mine eventually recups. It is quite foggy outside, which I love, I only wish I felt better to enjoy it more.

Well as expected temperatures here in TX have greatly flunctuated, so I'm still wearing all kinds of stuff.

Right after work, I went to the park just to get a few pics of this vintage dress that I can't stop looking at. Totally love it. Worn with Nordstroom boots and Ralph Lauren belt.

Have to admit that the days have been pretty beautiful, so I have no problem with the winter holding off a little longer.

I found these adorable pillows at Clayton Gray Home. I'm a firm believer of more is more, so I'd buy them all and pile them all in one sofa. They have pretty awesome rugs too.

I really can't stay

It's here! It's finally cold (and in a couple of days we'll be in the 80s again, but in the meantime...).

Not that I'll like it when it freezes the roads, but for now, it's perfect. It's cold enough to let me stand outside and comfortably feel the cold wind touch my cheeks without becoming unbearable. Love it.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work listening to sappy songs that fit the wheather so well, so hopefully I'll enjoy it more later.

Pete Revonkorpi's Art

"The Boy with Bees in his hair"

I was browsing around and I found this paintings - wonderful works from Pete Revonkorpi, and I couldn't stop myself from reposting. They are beautiful and hard to believe they are all digital.

Personally I enjoy immensely playing around with traditional materials, but I can see the flexibility software brings. I look at these and I can't wait to start painting tonight (have to finish project). But I definitely want to look into new software now.

"Honey, how it ain't so funny"

I'm been doing a lot of photography projects lately and here's a couple of photos I didn't use. I really like taking photos, even if they are only amusing to me.
