I recently went to the Fort Worth Zoo and had a blast! I love just staring at all the animals*.
It was also relatively peaceful, the children running around didn't get to me much, so I just enjoyed the day. (It was tough with the temperature being so high, but fortunately the zoo has tons of shaded areas courtesy of the high trees.)
The elephant above kept on moving the log back and forth as if it was a straw. I kept on wondering how fast they could throw me.
Aren't lions supposed to sleep most of the day?? He was sleeping when we first got there, I was lucky when he suddenly raised his head.
I loved this hat! I'm still not sure why I didn't buy it.
*So, when we were making our way out we passed by the house of reptiles, and I couldn't have resisted any harder.
Not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I hate most reptiles and amphibians. Not sure how it started (I have a texture phobia too, any correlation??), but it evolved into me screaming and then running everytime I see a reptile or frog or anything remotely close.
Last night there was a tiny gecko that made it into the house - corner of the doorway, sneaky bastards! - and I screamed and ran up the stairs in mere seconds! (it's happened twice this week!).
In times past, I've even cried :(

Here's a couple of pics of this awesome skirt which you can't see clearly at all. It's got tons of ruffles and a cool black satin waist band.
Because it is quite sheer, I had to wear something underneath - at least for public appearances - non editorial lol.
And I found this amazing body tight black dress. It's so useful, I've already layered it under several outfits.
Anyway, the water gardens at Fort Worth are very peaceful. You can just sit there and listen to the water and relax. Almost like when you're taking a shower.
I'll have to take more pictures of this skirt later. These don't do it justice at all.

I found all of these pictures at one of my favorite blogs: DesignLoveFest.
Mainly because it's full of color and design and just the right touch of fashion, but because it's just good inspiration.
Even if I don't use what I absorb from it, I enjoy getting lost in the images and when I've had enough, I come back to reality.
I love the first dress from this foursome. Adorable! I'd wear it in a second.
Have I mentioned I have a thing for lightbulbs?
I'm pretty obsessed with watercolor right now, I couldn't pass this one up.
One last thing: I'm obsessed with Elle Fanning. I don't just like her, I want to be her. Not sure why, now that I think about it.
I just love her.

As I mentioned earlier, I got married less than a month ago. And here's a couple of pictures. Most of the pictures were family, so just a few to share here.
This cocktail dress was so comfortable! I'm really glad I didn't pick anything more constricting.
This was the smallest, most relaxed wedding I've ever been too. I'm really glad how it turned out.
To any future brides, keep it small! it's so much more fun.
Btw, I picked two songs for the wedding, one classical for my "entrance" and two "She" by Elvis Costello - one of my favorite songs of all time (from one of the best movies "Notting Hill"). Here's lyrics and video.
She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song the summer sings
May be the chill the autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem inside her shell
She who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She may be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
But I'll remember till the day I die
She may be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough in many years
Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is she

I managed to take these pics at the office while I waited for my swimming class to start.
I have to admit that the whole day I felt uncomfortable for how short the dress was but I didn't realize it before I walked the door. So next time I should do a sitting test.
This was very much a Target outfit: dress, sweater, socks were all Target (vintage belt and Gianni Bini shoes). Maybe, I'm such a big fan because a long time ago I worked there...

I have been gone a long, long time. And I'm not sure when I'll be able to get myself on a steady schedule, but here's the first post of what I have so far.
Just to clarify, I was gone due to getting married and moving both of which were hard to pull within a month and a half. However, I am glad that I'm at least trying to find my groove back.
These pictures were taken in the locker room as I was getting ready to change to go to swimming class. (I know I'm a little old for swimming classes, but it's never too late for anything!)
I'm wearing a dress and a cardigan; something simple for work. This sweater from Target reminds me of the '50s, but somehow I couldn't find my pencil skirt so I just threw it on top of my dress. I've had this dress for years; yet somehow, I only manage it to wear it once or twice a year.
It's typically a very lonely locker room.
