Spring's Sparkle

Lately, I have not been able to enjoy the Texas weather. Given my cold nature, I have to accomadate the lack of natural warmth with external helpers.

I typically wear socks just because I like them, but lately, they are a must. If my feet are warm, then my legs tend to stand the cold wind easily. Same with leggings. I've bought some pretty cool colors for the "spring." I'm sure they'll make it here sometime.

Military Green?

The spring's delayed arrival (and my constant cold nature) allowed me to wear this vintage jacket without baking underneath it.

Even today when the sun was out, the breeze was cool and I can't wait for just a full day of sunlight and heat.

By then, I'll regret I even said it since Texas summers get boiling hot. But oh well, I'll just raise the hem.

Wearing: Vintage Jacket and Scarf, New York & Company white blouse, can't remember the brand of leggings, Anne Klein watch, and Jessica Simpson wedge boots.

Purple Ribbon

I can't get over these socks. Bought them at Target after I saw them in Sea of Shoes way long ago (a gray pair that I also bought), and now I can't get them to come off my feet.

Floppy Happiness

I thought the color of this poster sort of went with the mood of these pictures.

I'd like to say that spring has arrived, but here in Texas is actually not higher than 54 degrees, so needless to say this pics were taken when the sun had come out.

Cages and Concrete

I've been playing around with the settings on my camera and the quality of these isn't great. However, I can't stop messing around with the "effects" on iPhoto. I Love playing around with the colors, which might screw up the pics, sorry!

Stripes and Platforms

I've been sporting this look a lot lately. Long shirts over second-skin pants/leggins and crazy high shoes.

Wearing: Liz Claiborne button-down shirt, can't think of leggins brand, and Jessica Simpson platforms

Ruffled Shirt-Dress

Trying to call Coco over

There's my girl! Actually, my mom's, but she loves my dad more than any of us.

I edited these pics with the "effects" on iPhoto, so it bleached out my shoes, but they were actually quite pink.

Wearing: Gap dress, Liz Claiborne belt, Gianni Binni shoes, unknown bracelets and ring.

French Quarter

Have to be honest and say that while at New Orleans, LA, we only visited the French Quarter.

However, that was more than enough with all the people and entertainment everywhere.

Mr. Joe was our tour guide. He's a friend of the bf and has visited NOLA plenty of times. He's also a firefighter and a great photographer. He took the last picture on this post. He's got a great eye.

the boyfriend

The Acme Oyster House was full from the moment we got in line to when we left and the line was twice as long. They oysters and Po' boys were really good.

These were amazingly good. Way better than a funnel cake. The first time we stopped by Cafe Du Monde we had to leave b/c the line was so long. The second time around we walked right in.

by our hotel's rooftop pool

On our way to Bourbon Street. Yes there was plenty of beads, but thankfully no boobs.

This is the pic Joe graciously took for us.

NCAA Tournament

Hotel Lobby across the Mississippi river

Kentucky is fun to watch, even though I'm not really a basketball fan.

A pic of the superdome - which was extremely weird to look at without thinking of all the people that stayed there during Katrina. It made me sad.

But, as I mentioned earlier, I went to New Orleans to see the NCAA tournament. Actually it was more of the boyfriend covering it for his school's paper and me just tagging along.

Either way, I had a blast and more pictures to come.
